CREATING THE BENIN AGENDA.

Worried by the demeaning perception of the Binis within the context of development both in the areas of human recourses and infrastructure, considering the availability of the raw human and material resources, the level of development and advancement of the people of the Benin kingdom along side its environment do not complement in any way the available resources and land mass of the entire kingdom.

CREATING THE BENIN AGENDA

Mission Statement.

Worried by the demeaning perception of the Binis within the context of development both in the areas of human recourses and infrastructure, considering the availability of the raw human and material resources, the level of development and advancement of the people of the Benin kingdom along side its environment do not complement in any way the available resources and land mass of the entire kingdom .

The lack of available resources and land mass of the entire kingdom .The lack of unity and commitment of the people of the Benin Kingdom couple with the need to foster a purposeful roadmap for the contemporary and future challenges of the Benin race provoked the convocation of the Benin National Summit which promises to be a reunion of great minds at home and abroad. It is aimed at articulating an all-encompassing blueprint for Benin nation in the socio, economic; political and religious spheres of life.
The Summit with the theme” Creating the Benin Agenda”is determined to appreciate our historical backgrounds and juxtapose it with the present reality with a view to articulating a realisticframework (Benin Agenda) for the Binis in the near and further future.

Issues boardering on the conveners amongst so many are:

  • Inability for the priviledged Benin Sons and daughters to contribute meaningfully to the development of the Benin Kingdom.
  • The Current traditional decadence in the Kingdom
  • The gradual demise of the Benin Culture which has hitherto affected the unique nature of the Kingdom
  • The increasing trend of criminal acts especially armed robbery which has made Benin cityuncomfortable for people to live in.
  • Lack of purposeful leadership in the Bni kingdom
  • Poor mentoring and transitional issues in the Bni Kingdom
  • The missing priceless Bini artifers.

Conveners

This initiative was commonly conceived by patriotic Binis. However, worried by the need to drive visions into reality, the Benin National Congress during one of its maiden visits to some Benin patriots interacted with Mr. Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri MON at his Port Harcourt Residence on theneed to put a pan Benin Summit in place and an agreement was reached to go ahead with the plan. This concept has ideologically been supported by Umagbai Worldwide Association (UWA) United States. This was confirmed in the course of exchange of ideas with the BNC in the recent past.
